Oakmont Country Club

Oakmont Country Club was founded in 1903 by Henry Clay Fownes and his son, William Clarke Fownes, Jr.  In 1992, Oakmont Country Club was designated a National Historic Landmark.  Since this designation, the Fownes Foundation has granted Oakmont Country Club funds for capital improvements on the course and clubhouse in order to restore and preserve its historic landmark status as well as display an extensive amount of golf memorabilia/equipment which is accessible by the public.
